Devin Setoguchi
Devin Setoguchi is a former San Jose Sharks forward. He was drafted by the Sharks in the first round, eighth overall, in the 2005 NHL Draft and played with several NHL teams including the Minnesota Wild, Winnipeg Jets, and Calgary Flames. During his four seasons with San Jose, Setoguchi recorded 159 points (84g, 75a) in 267 games played.
In 2007, Setoguchi became the first Sharks rookie ever to score two goals in his first NHL game. By the 2008-9 season, Setoguchi had earned a spot on the top line with Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau, scoring a career-high 31 goals. Devin played a vital role during the Sharks’ 2010-11 playoff run, where he scored the game-winner in overtime to help San Jose take a 2-1 series lead in the first round against Los Angeles, and recorded a hat trick in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals against Detroit by scoring an overtime goal to give the Sharks a 3-0 lead in the series.
After a comeback season in 2016-17 with Los Angeles, Setoguchi most recently played for Adler Mannheim in Germany. After retiring Setoguchi decided to stay in San Jose as a permanent resident. He is a proud owner of his own successful fitness franchise F45 Training Willow Glen East, located in the heart of Willow Glen. His passion to help change people’s lives through fitness. It is what keeps him busy most days. He has three lovely children, Matteo, Siena, Gino and a beautiful wife.
