Curtis Brown

Curtis Brown is a former ice hockey forward and is now a member of the Sharks Alumni Foundation. Curtis was originally a 2nd round pick for the Buffalo Sabres where he spent 10 seasons. He was also a member of the Sharks for three seasons and the Blackhawks for one season. Over his career he registered 300 points (129g, 171a) in 736 games.

Before San Jose traded for Curtis, he spent a large portion of his career in Buffalo. He put points on the board, but the real strength of his game was his defensive ability. He was nominated for the Frank J. Selke Trophy (best defensive NHL forward) in four seasons, finishing 5th, 13th, 25th, and 57th. Curtis’s talents were put to use in more than just the NHL as he was invited to play for Team Canada in the 2000 Ice Hockey World Championship and the 1996 World Junior Championships where he won gold.

Although Curtis Brown never officially announced his retirement, his last year in the NHL was the 2007-08 season. He chose to remain in California and work with the San Jose Sharks as the lead color analyst for “Sharks Pregame Live” and “Sharks Postgame Live” shows.
