David Maley
David Maley arrived in the Bay Area in 1992 after he was picked up by the Sharks off waivers from the Edmonton Oilers and lived, worked and raised his family in San Jose for the next 26 years.
Maley started the first indoor roller hockey facility in San Jose called Rollin Ice and opened its doors in 1996. Rollin Ice became the home to thousands of people in San Jose for the next 10 years.
In 2006, he teamed up with Kevin Compton (Former San Jose Sharks Majority Owner) to develop the Silver Creek Sportsplex that opened its doors in 2007. He also started the Silver Creek Sportsplex Foundation in 2008 that later became what is now known as the Sharks Alumni Foundation.
He also spent many years as the “fill-in” guy for Sharks TV and radio broadcasts as well as visiting countless schools over the years to represent the Sharks with his favorite teammate ever, Sharkie.
David and his wife Karin decided to move his family back to Minnesota in 2018. He has three children, Michaela, Ryan and Shae.
