Evgeni Nabokov
Evgeni Nabokov is a former NHL goaltender and current member of the San Jose Sharks Hockey Operations. He was a late round draft pick (219th overall) that turned into one of the most influential Sharks of all time.
Nabokov leads almost every category among Sharks goaltenders including games played (563), wins (293), saves (13,463), shutouts (59) and is one of only nine NHL goaltenders to ever score a goal. In his first season, he was the Calder Memorial Trophy winner for best rookie. In the 2007-08 season, Nabokov was voted as a first team NHL All-Star and was runner up for the Vezina Trophy for best goaltender.
The Sharks traded for Nabokov’s rights so he could announce his retirement from the NHL in February of 2017 as a member of the team that he began his career on. He currently works for the San Jose Sharks as a goaltending development coach and special assignment scout.
