Mike Ricci is a retired NHL player who enjoyed 16 seasons in the NHL playing in 1099 where he recorded 243 goals and 362 assists. He was with San Jose for a large portion of those years and served as captain for part of the 2003-04 season. He still holds the Sharks’ franchise record for most consecutive games played (228).

Ricci was originally a 4th overall draft pick by the Philadelphia Flyers in 1990, but he also played for Quebec, Colorado, Phoenix and San Jose. His playing style translated into that of an elite two-way center and he quickly became a fan favorite. Ricci won the Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche in 1996 and the World Championships in 1994 with team Canada.

After a long and successful career, Ricci retired in 2007 at the age of 35. He still works in the world of hockey as a member of the San Jose Sharks front office taking the role of development coach.
