Rob Zettler
Robb Zettler is a retired NHL defenseman and is now an assistant coach for the San Jose Sharks.
He began his NHL career as the North Stars’ 2nd round draft pick (55th) overall back in 1986 and played for the organization for three seasons.
After his time in Minnesota, Zettler came to San Jose where he would spend the next three years. Zettler played as a defensive minded defenseman who wasn’t scared to drop the gloves and fight. He also spent time playing for Philadelphia, Toronto, Nashville and Washington racking up 70 points (5g, 65a) and 920 PIMs in 569 games played.
Zettler retired on August 27, 2002 and soon became an assistant coach under Ron Wilson with the Sharks and then the Maple Leafs. He returned to the San Jose Sharks in 2017 as an assistant coach under Peter DeBoer.
